
Kentucky received a commitment on Wednesday from Logan Hastings, a right-handed pitcher from the University of Maryland. Hastings announced his decision on social media.
Bat Cats Central reported that Hastings spent two days on campus and wrapped up a visit on Tuesday morning. After a day of deliberation, Hastings decided on Kentucky.
Hastings, a native of Huntingtown, Maryland, spent two seasons with the Terps. He led the team with 71 strikeouts this season and appeared in 17 games while making six starts. A 5-10, 185-pound right-hander, Hastings went 9-9 with a 5.35 earned run average in 35 appearances. He made 12 starts at Maryland but mostly appeared out of the bullpen, finishing with five saves over two seasons.
The best outing of Hastings' season was on Feb. 22 against Louisiana, an NCAA Tournament team. Hastings fired 7.2 scoreless innings with three hits allowed, seven strikeouts and no walks. On May 16, the final outing of his Maryland career, Hastings struck out 12 batters against Penn State.

Hastings allowed 38 earned runs over 62 innings pitched as a sophomore. He finished with a 5.52 ERA, but there were some positive increases within his numbers from Year 1 to Year 2. In 2025, Hastings struck out 42 batters and walked 33 in 55.2 innings. But in 2026, despite throwing just 6.1 more innings, Hastings struck out 71 batters and walked 30. His K% rose from 16.2% as a freshman to 25.4% as a sophomore, and his BB% was lowered from 12.7% in 2025 to 10.8% in 2026. Hastings finished with a 14.6% K-BB%, which ranked No. 27 among all Big Ten pitchers according to Fangraphs.
Opponents hit .239 against Hastings on the season.
Hastings is Kentucky's fourth transfer commitment of the summer. Akron outfielder Brody Chrisman committed to the Wildcats on May 26, and Wright State UTIL player JP Peltier committed on Tuesday evening. Seattle University left-hander Kale Hammer made his decision public on Wednesday.
