Following a breakout redshirt junior season at Akron, Brody Chrisman decided it was time to evaluate his options. Chrisman entered his name into the transfer portal as a graduate transfer and was contacted by Kentucky's coaching staff soon after.
"The most impressive part of Kentucky’s staff was their persistence," Chrisman told Bat Cats Central. "I heard from at least one of three coaches nearly every single day. I think I started talking to (Kentucky’s staff) either the day I entered the portal or the day after. It was really quick. It was good to hear from them and obviously there was a lot of mutual interest.”
Chrisman took a visit during the Wildcats' preparation for the Morgantown Regional. After he got home and deliberated, he called the coaching staff to commit.
"Everything at Kentucky was phenomenal," Chrisman said. "Facility-wise, player-wise, and obviously culture-wise is most important. Everybody really seemed bought in. Even at an intrasquad practice that we came and watched, there was no doubt that everybody had the same common goal. I think an environment like that is something I can see myself thriving in.”
Chrisman, a left-handed batter, was one of the top hitters in the Mid-American Conference in 2026 and earned First Team All-MAC honors.
