Texas Tech transfer Connor Shouse, the top-ranked available player in the transfer portal according to 64Analytics, began a visit to Kentucky on Monday. Shouse, a third baseman and right-handed pitcher for the Red Raiders, was selected as an All-Big 12 First Team selection in 2026 as a utility player after slashing .353/.431/.595 with 18 doubles, two triples, 10 home runs and 66 RBI in 2026.
Shouse also made 11 appearances as a pitcher, including one start, and finished with a 5.87 ERA in 15.1 innings.
Although he can help on the mound, the bat is the calling card for Shouse. He posted a 134 wRC+ in a limited sample size (34 at-bats) at Georgia Tech as a freshman in 2025, but finished with a 140 wRC+ over a full season at Texas Tech. He had a tough year defensively, though, finishing with a team-high 15 errors at third base.
After speaking with various sources on Monday and Tuesday, here's the latest intel from Bat Cats Central on Shouse's recruitment.
