Jayce Tharnish breaks down Kentucky commitment
Kentucky's likely final transfer addition was a star at St. Bonaventure as a redshirt sophomore, slashing .403/.461/.597 with 11 doubles, two triples and seven homers.
Mullan, who had Tommy John surgery and missed the 2025 season, has two years of eligibility remaining.
Kentucky has added its fifth commitment from the transfer portal. Ryan Mullan, a 6-2, 235-pound righthanded pitcher from Loyola Marymount University, committed to the Wildcats on Tuesday night.
Mullan sat out the 2025 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery, which he underwent in November. It led to a recruitment that saw several programs on the West Coast reach out, along with some ACC and midwestern programs. But Kentucky showed the most interest from the SEC and ultimately landed his commitment.
“It’s important because (the coaches) see the future I have,” Mullan told Bat Cats Central. “They saw my past, all the success I had. They thought they can get more out of me, and I feel like that’s important when choosing a school because I’m not a finished product yet. If they can help get the full product and value out of me the next two years, that’s something I want to be a part of to maximize my potential and hopefully play pro ball and go to Omaha.”
