Bat Cats Central is a University of Kentucky baseball newsletter and website that debuted in 2023, but re-launched as a subscription-based model in June 2024. It is the only media outlet in the Kentucky market solely devoted to covering the UK baseball program. 

The publication specializes in breaking news, in-depth high school and transfer portal recruiting coverage, team analysis and insider news.

I’m Derek Terry, a University of Kentucky School of Journalism and Media graduate. I was also a beat writer covering UK football, basketball and football for seven years. The Cats’ Pause/247Sports.com (2017-22) and Rivals.com/Cats Illustrated (2015-17) were among my stops, including an internship in college with D1baseball.com.
