Kentucky has added its first transfer for the 2027 season.

Brody Chrisman, an outfielder from Akron, told Bat Cats Central that he's committed to the Wildcats. Chrisman was an All-MAC First Team selection after slashing .355/.453/.603 with 14 doubles, 13 home runs and 52 RBIs in 2026. He went 23-27 on stolen base attempts.

"After showing up on campus, it was clear that family is a huge part of Kentucky’s culture," Chrisman said in a statement to BCC. "They made it a point to talk about my development not only as a player, but as a person too. All of this stacked on top of the beautiful facilities made it a no brainer. I love what the team stands for and am excited to get to work."

Chrisman's 149 wRC+ was the ninth best in the MAC, according to Fangraphs.

A 6-3, 205-pound left-handed hitting corner outfielder from Zionville, Indiana, Chrisman spent three seasons at Purdue before transferring to Akron. He redshirted in 2023 before appearing in 34 games as a redshirt freshman. Chrisman hit .155 with two doubles and seven RBI in limited playing time. An injury ended his 2025 season after two games.

Chrisman transferred to Akron and received regular playing time as a redshirt junior. He started all 55 games for the Zips and proved to be one of the top players in the league. Chrisman had the seventh-best slugging percentage in the conference and was top 10 in hits, batting average home runs and RBI.

The transfer portal officially opens on June 1 for all players, but Chrisman was already in the portal because he is a graduate transfer.
