Kentucky baseball coach Nick Mingione is a popular name on hotboards for the vacant Texas A&M job. Kendall Rogers of D1baseball.com and Teddy Cahill of Baseball America — two leading outlets covering college baseball nationally — listed Mingione as a candidate in the Texas A&M search.

Mingione, 45, has been at Kentucky for the past eight years, leading the Wildcats to their best season in school history in 2024. Kentucky shared the SEC regular-season championship for the second time in program history and set a record for SEC wins (22) and overall wins (46) this year, earning Mingione his second National Coach of the Year honor at Kentucky.

In addition, the Wildcats hosted a Super Regional for the first time in school history and made it to the College World Series for the first time, defeating NC State 5-4 in the opener before losing to Texas A&M and Florida in the following games.
