The most interesting position battle to track until the opener
Which direction will the Wildcats go at third base to begin the season?
The Kentucky baseball team travels to Nashville, Tennessee, to face Lipscomb in just 25 days. There’s still time for players to make their case for the opening day lineup, but the eleventh hour is nearing.
However, when taking into account fall performance, it’s reasonable to think much of Kentucky’s lineup is known. I made a post-fall lineup prediction in early November and will make a final prediction in a few weeks (most likely on Feb. 10), but there’s one position battle that appears closer than any of the others.
Third base has three main competitors: senior Patrick Herrera and sophomores Ethan Hindle and Kyuss Gargett.
