A postseason hero for Kentucky in 2024, Nolan McCarthy entered the transfer portal on Tuesday.
Kentucky senior outfielder Nolan McCarthy plans to enter the transfer portal, a source familiar with the situation told Bat Cats Central.
McCarthy was a postseason hero for the Wildcats, scoring the game-winning run in Game 2 of the Lexington Super Regional against Oregon State and homering against NC State in the opening game of the College World Series.
McCarthy hit .288/.380/.480 as a redshirt junior with 12 doubles, one triple, eight home runs and 41 runs batted in and played a solid center field defensively for the Wildcats. A native of Kalamazoo, Michigan, McCarthy has one year of eligibility remaining.
He’s the 11th player to enter the transfer portal this offseason from Kentucky, though he joins Travis Smith as the only player who had a major role at any point in his Wildcat career. The Wildcats currently have 12 players committed from the transfer portal.
