Indiana catcher/designated hitter Brayden Ricketts has committed to Kentucky, he told Bat Cats Central. A native of Brampton, Ontario, Ricketts spent two seasons with the Hoosiers, including a redshirt in his first season in 2025.

Ricketts started in 43 games in 2026 and played in 48 games, with 27 starts at DH and 16 starts at catcher. Ricketts slashed .235/.377/.451 with 36 hits, six doubles, nine home runs and 28 RBIs. He drew 27 walks and struck out 38 times.

"The people were a big thing, finding the right people that I want to be around every day and felt welcoming," Ricketts said in an interview on Monday. "I thought I found that with the staff at Kentucky. I want to win and be developed, and obviously, an opportunity to play. I know I’m not guaranteed to play and I’m going to have to earn it, but just the opportunity is all you can ask for.”
