Takeaways from Kentucky's final exhibition of fall baseball
Kentucky completed its fall in dominating fashion against Morehead State.

Kentucky's exhibition schedule concluded on Sunday evening with a thrashing of in-state opponent Morehead State. The Wildcats posted 22 runs in the first nine innings, and then five more runs in the final five innings. In all, Kentucky outscored the Eagles 27-5 over 14 innings.
Bat Cats Central was on hand for the first nine innings of the scrimmage. An inning-by-inning rundown can be found below:

Here are a few quick hitters after speaking with folks who were there for the entirety of the scrimmage:
- Freshman outfielder Rob Czarniecki reached base three times. He singled, drew a walk and was hit by a pitch. Czarniecki got some run this fall as a pinch-runner in earlier portions of the scrimmage. Perhaps he'll be a top option on the basepaths off the bench for the Wildcats this spring.
- Senior catcher Riley Jackson collected a double and a single. Kentucky went with freshman Carson May at catcher to begin the exhibition, but Jackson started exhibitions against Xavier and Indiana. As a reminder, Brayden Ricketts was injured in the exhibition against Cincinnati on Oct. 4 and missed the rest of fall.
- After homering in the first portion of the scrimmage, infielder JP Peltier hit a double in one of his at-bats in the final five innings. Peltier started at shortstop against Morehead State but has also played third base and second base this fall.
- I'm told the pitchers were consistently in the zone. Freshman right-hander Logan Sorrel started after the intermission and tossed two scoreless innings. It was a nice bounce back for him after some command issues (the weather was not great) in his outing against Indiana.
