Five position players who started in Kentucky's final game of the 2025 season returned for the 2026 campaign, which gave the Wildcats a solid core before the portal season even began.

With a good mixture of returning players and transfers, Kentucky looks to have a quality lineup for the upcoming season. With over six weeks of fall practice in the books, here's my best guess at how the Wildcats would line up if the season started tomorrow.

Rather than project an actual lineup, which takes into account several factors, this is just the defensive alignment along with some commentary. The percentage next to each name is based on the confidence that the pick will pan out once the season begins in February, assuming the player is healthy.
