Burkes will be Kentucky's most experienced returning position player in 2025, plus some portal news that could be coming.
Devin Burkes announced on Wednesday morning that he would return to Kentucky for his senior season, giving the Wildcats at least one familiar face to build around for the 2025 season. A native of Bradenton, Florida, Burkes has 600 career plate appearances under his belt and has played in 138 career games for Kentucky.
“We wouldn’t be where we are without Devin Burkes,” Kentucky coach Nick Mingione said during the Lexington Super Regional. “He’s an extension of the coaching staff. He’s tough. He’s competitive. He wills our pitching staff. Devin is an amazing guy and amazing leader.”
