Scrimmage observations (9/24): Campbell steals the show to open the fall
The first intrasquad of fall took place at Kentucky Proud Park on Wednesday. Contributing writer Adam Revelette has the details.

Revelette, a Lexington native, pitched for UK for two seasons and was a member of the 2006 SEC championship team under head coach John Cohen. He spent four seasons in professional baseball following his college career at UK.
Revelette began a college coaching career with Transylvania in 2011. He became the Director of Operations at Baylor in 2012 and moved into a volunteer assistant role in 2014. Revelette returned to the Bluegrass State in 2015 when he was hired as the pitching coach at Eastern Kentucky University. Revelette spent three seasons at EKU, three seasons as the pitching coach at UAB and one year with Saint Louis. He was the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator for the Billikens. In all, Revelette coached over 20 players who were either drafted or signed with MLB teams.

In addition to coaching, Revelette has been the editor of Inside Pitch magazine for 14 years. He currently serves in a management role for Perfect Game and for Champions Sports in Nicholasville, where he also gives lessons.
Revelette’s expertise on pitching and experience as both a college baseball player and coach will bring a new perspective to Bat Cats Central's members.
Bruner is a senior at the University of Kentucky. He is the sports editor of the Kentucky Kernel, the student newspaper at UK. In addition to serving as sports editor, Bruner currently covers Kentucky football and was the baseball beat writer for the Kernel for the past two seasons. He traveled to Omaha, Nebraska, to chronicle Kentucky’s first trip to the College World Series in 2024.
Bruner will help produce coverage of fall practice in the coming days and weeks. Kentucky is set to have its first scrimmage on Wednesday at 11 a.m. ET.
